Who will you become?
It's a choice that you must make
The future does not have to be dark…
Lately, I’ve been talking to a bunch of people who have struggling with despair.
In every case they’ve been watching a lot of news.
Ruminating on the bad stuff.
Becoming aware of everything.
But ruminating on any dark thing will always take you down.
We become our thoughts.
Which is why I want to paint a different picture with these words.
You can still build the life that you want.
It might take time.
You might have to walk a million steps in barefeet… But you can cultivate hope in your heart right now!
You can guard your mind.
You can surround yourself with life-giving people.
You can fill your day up with inspiring conversations.
You can create inspiring content on social media.
You can bring forth the world and the future that you want.
What’s the alternative anyway?
To drown yourself in a sea of despondency?
To kill your dreams one news headline at a time?
Don’t even think about it!
That’s the gift of these times. It’s the true life-giving power of polarisation.
It can be extremely clarifying!
Who will you become?
Will you be pulled to the negative? Sucked into the darkness.
Or will you stand your ground. Live your values and build your future
It’s not about closing your eyes to injustice OR pretending that the darkness does not exist.
It’s about opening your eyes fully to the human being that you have been called to be…
Good. Kind. Generous and unstoppable, unrelentingly hopeful.
