The Rammer/Jammer vs. The Planner
Do you pack last-minute with chaos or plan every step like a pro?
I was talking to my good mate about this the other day.
He was due to board a flight to South Africa for 4 weeks of international cricket, leaving the next day.
“What time do you fly out?” I asked.
“Dunno, have to check,” he replied.
“Have you packed yet?”
A long pause and wry grin… “Don’t be silly.”
You see, my mate loves to soak up every last minute of life, and so he packs just before he has to.
I’m the same.
I call it the “rammer jammer” method… Everything is pushed into the suitcase, sat on, and zipped closed.
Please don’t judge me. If you are a planner who packs early and prepares well, I salute you.
It’s just that people travel differently.
In some ways, it doesn’t matter how you prepare; when you are going on a long journey, every person needs 5 things:
Destination (target or goal)
A Route (a map to follow)
A Vehicle (tools to get there)
Fuel or Energy (juice to operate the system)
Support and Company (you’ll go further with company)
I want you to think about your business as less of a “money-making machine” and more of a long journey or adventure.
How you pack your bag and get ready for the trip is of minor importance.
The Destination:
What is essential is that you have clarity, a target, or a goal. For our folks in the Sphere Builder Academy, we have a goal of increasing their word-of-mouth business by 5X starting now and into 2026.

The Route:
