Typing this post on my phone from the gym in New Zealand.
I want to share the massive problem with using “scripts” in modern day sales.
Especially in the polarised landscape of 2025.
I will also offer an alternative.
As an example, if I had not shared a photo and told you where I physically was… You would have made a subconscious assumption about me.
And this is how most people begin their scripts…
With assumptions, and a clear goal as to what you want from our conversation… a transaction of some kind.
And I don’t care how good you are at this (applies to me also)…
You are going to manipulate, control “guide”, or end the conversation, to find folk who fit into your framework.
I have been doing this far too much lately.
This post is my commitment to stopping this process.
It’s actually quite freeing.
I am going to teach a new method, model it, and encourage all of our Sphere Builder Academy members to use this open conversation framework,
It reminds me a lot of an acting improv class that I took for years (Meisner)..
All you need is a way into the scene and a way out of it…
The actual scene itself (the conversation) you cannot control at all.
All you can do in the middle of the scene is listen, react and never lose your point of view.
There are no lines that need to be said. There is a life that needs to be lived though.
That life is you fully alive, connecting with people and making a difference in their lives one conversation at a time.
I know, I know… you have needs, this is your job, you have an agenda.
Surrender your needs and all this will be given to you as well.
Why don’t we just f’ing talk to people with an open heart and see what happens?
Surrender your need to “find the money” and instead be the person who “adds some humanity”
